Uri – His Journey’s Just Begun

Uri Sellers was a bright and ambitious nineteen year old small town boy, who had just recently graduated from high school and begun his first year of college. He looked forward to what his next chapter in life had to offer and where it would lead him.

On April 20, 1997, Uri was tragically taken away from his friends and family while doing what he had done his entire life, being there for his friends.

Friends, family and community members now honor Uri’s memory by holding an annual memorial softball tournament, awarding a deserving senior with a scholarship each year and by helping support various local causes.

Prairie City Sports Complex

The Uri Sellers Memorial Foundation, represented by Caleb Sellers, presented a $2,000 check to Prairie City -City Administrator Evie Johnson.  This is the second donation from the foundation towards the Prairie City Sports Complex.  In addition, friends, family and community members worked to help build the concession stand shown in the background of the picture above.

Monroe Recreation Park

The Uri Sellers Memorial Foundation, represented by James Nolin, presented a $2,000 check to MRP Board member Alex Roorda and City Councilman, David Pendroy. This is the second donation from the Foundation towards building the concession stand. In addition to financial assistance many friends and family plan to provide in-kind labor in working on the stand. This support is greatly appreciated by the MRP Board and community.
